Being a natural fabric, Aliki Silks may be hand
washed or dry cleaned. For easy care washing, follow these
basic rules.
WASHING
Aliki Silks are machine washable, however, they must be placed in a
mesh bag and washed separately on a gentle cycle. Use mild liquid
detergent diluted in
cold water prior to immersing silks. We suggest "Ivory Snow", "Dreft",
or a good Non-Alkaline Shampoo for washing. We do not
recommend
"Woolite". "Shout" works well for
stains. Rinsing should also be done delicately in cold water. Do not
wring or twist after washing. Simply squeeze out the water and shake
vigorously.
DRYING
For best results
after shaking the silk put in dryer with a dryer sheet on medium
setting for 5 minutes, take out, shake again, and repeat until silk is
dry. 10-15 minutes total. The more you shake and dry, the easier
wrinkles fall out and the softness is restored. Silk can be hung to dry
but tends to get stiff again so ending with a quick toss in the dryer
with a dryer sheet will improve softness.
IRONING
Aliki
silks can be ironed on medium setting with or without steam.
Just be sure to move quickly and avoid prolonged extensive heat.
STATIC
Static Guard is safe for our silks, but Aliki's secret is to wet hands
with water and rub between your body and clothing. It naturally
neutralizes the static. Panty hose are especially static so be sure to
rub down with water before putting on your silk..
