Novelty Prints For over a decade Aliki's quest has been to seek the finest silks for her fashion line. Silk is her canvas for her colorful and distinctive original art work. Click on the links below for color availibility. Aliki loves hand painting on Crepe de Chine. Colors are captured with a true vibrancyand clarity unparalleled in any other fabrication. It has the ultimate softness and a liquid 'drapey' feel. Burnout is a hand screen printing process.  The blank fabric is woven with a Silk underlayer and Satin Rayon top Layer. A Screen Print is developed on which a liquid is poured. The liquid reacts and "burns" off the satin rayon top layer leaving the silk underlayer according to the screen design.Aliki loves the added dimension of this textured effect, and offers both Silk Satin Burnouts and Velvet Burnouts. Georgette is a sheer fabric. The silk yarns are also twisted before weaving to achieve a crepe texture. Aliki's silk georgettes are in a 12mm weight.
