Aliki silks are washable and created for luxurious comfort and easy
care. Silk can be woven and knitted in a variety of weights and
textures. Silk weight is refered to by "Mummi", abreviated mm. The mummi represents the density of yarns per square milimeter. Aliki works with each type of silk in the mm weight that she feels is most suitable for her fashion line. Click on the links below to view color availability.  Crepe de Chine abbreviated CDC means Crepe of China. It is a superior silk with a distinctive ability to drape beautifully. The silk yarn is twisted before weaving so as to achieve the crepe texture. This also allows the fabric to have some stretch.  Georgette is a sheer fabric. The silk yarns are also twisted before weaving to achieve a crepe texture. Aliki's silk georgettes are in a 12mm weight.  Silk Satin is a superior and luxurious textile. It is the softest and boasts a high satin gloss. Aliki's silk satins are in a 16mm weight. |
