CARE OF HAND PAINTED |
 |
Being a natural fabric, Aliki Silks do not need to be dry
cleaned. Some silks even have improved brightness of
color after regular washing. Follow these basic rules for
washing Aliki Silks:
WASHING
Aliki Silks are machine washable, however, they must be
placed in a mesh bag and washed separately on a gentle
cycle. Dilute detergent in cold water prior to immersing
silks. We suggest "Ivory Snow", "Dreft", or a good
Non-Alkaline Shampoo for washing. "Shout" works well
for stains. Rinsing should also be done delicately in cold
water.
DRYING
Silk can be hung in cool dark place to dry, and ironed on
reverse side, at low temperature, while still damp. Or
Tumble dry on delicate setting for 10-15 minutes until
just damp, using a dryer sheet for static and softness.
Shake and hang promptly, touch up with iron if necessary.
STATIC
Static Guard is safe for our silks or wet
hands and rub over pantyhose.
What NOT To Do:
1) Do Not wash articles in a detergent incompatible
with silk finishes. NEVER use detergents containing a
bleaching agent or "color brightner" - please check contents of product.
AND NEVER
2) Spray perfume or deodorant directly on a silk
garment.
3) Expose silk articles to strong direct light for a long
period of time.
4) Soak silk in water for long periods.
5) Wring silk. Excess water can be removed by rolling
article in a towel.
